I have recently become a member of AOTOS (The Association of Teachers of Singing). This will allow me to continue to develop as a singing teacher and learn from teachers who have gained a lot of experience over the years. I will also be able to go on difference conferences and events organised by AOTOS.

At the beginning of February I went on an access day in Bath. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and learnt a lot from it. So much so, that I have booked onto the next development day in Birmingham.

Exciting times ahead 🙂

Expanding my knowledge!

After years of wanting to do a course with ‘The Voice Explained’, I have finally signed myself up to undertake the 5 day course in the Estill Model in July. During my time at University I learned a lot about the Estill Method, but I wanted to go on this course to refresh my knowledge and also expand on it, so I can use what I learn to underpin my own teaching.

I am also attending a one day course which is specifically for singing teachers in June.

If you would like to know more about The Estill Model  and The Voice Explained please head over to

I shall let you know how I get on 🙂

Exciting News!!!

Magic of the Movies

On Saturday I attended an audition to be a backing vocalist for a touring show called ‘Magic Of The Movies’ and today I found out I have been offered the job as backing singer/cover soloist.

The tourwill be visiting theatres in Birmingham, Harpenden, Bury St Edmunds and Hastings over July and August and will be starring the wonderful Michelle Pentecost who has played alternative ‘Eva’ in ‘Evita’ (London Dominion & UK Tour) and First cover ‘Elphaba’ in ‘Wicked’ (Apollo Victoria).

I am very excited and can’t wait to start rehearsals!! 😀

New headshots

Aimee Whatson singer Aimee Whatson musical theatre Aimee Whatson actor

Last month, I had a shoot with the very talented Darren Bell in Covent Garden to get some new headshots done for my Spotlight profile and website.

After hundreds (what felt like thousands!) of photos, I’ve chosen the ones above as my final three; let me know what you think!

In the next few weeks, I should have my Spotlight profile and Casting Call Pro pages up and running. Don’t forget, I’m looking for opportunties to work on productions and events around the country so please do contact me if you have a singing opportunity coming up.

Studio session!

Aimee WhatsonHi everyone and welcome to my new website!

Over the next few months, I’ll be adding lots of information and then regularly updating the site with news of projects that I’m working on.

While I’m here I thought I would tell you about my recent recording session!

A few weeks ago, I spent the day with Martin at Sonic Pond Studio and recorded a handful of demo tracks that show a contrast of styles. I’m starting to get in to backing singer and session vocalist work, which I really enjoy and I want people to hear me singing a range of styles so, if you have a few minutes, please have a listen and let me know what you think on Twitter.

If you are looking for a singer for your own project, then drop me a message as I would be very interested in discussing this further.

Until next time!

Aimée x
